These colorful and gorgeous flowers in different colored hues and distinctive petal formations are hard to miss in gardens during summer and fall seasons.

Memories of home in India engulf me, when i see these flowers in the summer in the US. Growing up, winters in India meant pops of colorful Dahlias around my hometown.

The inspiration of these Dahlias are from my parents garden. As pretty as they look in full bloom, the distinctive color changes and shape of the wilted petals giving them a disheveled look, warrants more attention. A beauty where every petal, floret, stamen and stigma are laid out bare to observe and appreciate nature’s creation.
